Configure Attribute Mapping for Benchmarks

Having standardized mapping for attributes enables Peakon to make small adjustments for the True Benchmark functionality. Example: Your company has a larger proportion of new starters in comparison to the proportion of new starters within the industry you've selected for external benchmarking. By knowing which attribute contains employees' start dates, Peakon can make a small adjustment to the benchmark to account for any demographic differences that may impact the benchmark.
When you first create your Peakon account, any default attributes already have standardized mapping. However, you can manually configure attribute and segment mapping to standard values when you create your own attributes that need mapping.
Each attribute displays the possible attribute mapping options based on the attribute type. Example: Date type attributes only enable you to select date of birth, employment date, and separation date.
It’s not possible to manually map the individual segments of these attributes: Title, Division, Salary, Date of Birth, Employment Date, Separation Date, and Manager. These attributes also don’t display the option to download the Excel template.
Each segment displays the possible segment mapping options based on the mapping you selected for the attribute. Example: The Level attribute mapping only enables you to select intern, employee, team lead, manager, and executive. Peakon automatically standardizes the mapping for segments of date and number type attributes after setting the mapping for the attribute.
It's not possible to use the same mapping standard for multiple attributes, however it's possible to use the same mapping for multiple segments.
It's not possible to configure mapping for combination attributes.
  1. Go to
    Administration
    Attributes
    .
  2. Open the attribute that you need to map.
  3. Click the
    Benchmark mapping
     tab.
  4. Select a standard attribute from the drop-down menu.
  5. Click
    Save changes
    .
  6. Map segments using one of these methods:
    • Click
      Edit
       next to the segment, then select an option from the Select mapping drop-down menu.
    • Export the Excel template and re-import it with segment mappings. Use the Options tab in the template to inform yourself of the available segment mapping options. It’s possible to map multiple segments to the same segment mapping.
    The maximum number of rows for import is 20,000. Complete your import using multiple files if the row number exceeds the maximum.
Attribute and segment mapping is effective immediately. Updating mapping during a live survey round has immediate effect on True Benchmark adjustments.
If you remove the mapping from a standard attribute, it disappears from the available attributes for True Benchmark in
Administration
Data Settings
Benchmark
. If you re-enable the mapping and want to use it for True Benchmark adjustments, you need to re-enable it in the benchmark settings again.
