Enable Segment-Specific Benchmarks

It's possible to select a different external or internal benchmark for certain segments to override the standard benchmark selection process.
If you've set up attribute hierarchies, you can also propagate segment-specific benchmarks to child segments.
Segment-specific benchmarks use True Benchmark in the same process as standard benchmarking. The baseline for True Benchmark is the engagement score of the segment-specific benchmark.
Segment specific benchmarks display when you are viewing the configured segment's dashboard. When viewing the segment in the heat map as a segment within another segment, it uses the benchmark of the context.
  1. Go to
    Administration
    Data Settings
    Benchmark
    .
  2. In the
    Segment-specific benchmark
    section, select a segment.
  3. Select the benchmark.
  4. (Optional) Select the percentile preference.
  5. (Optional) Select whether to propagate the benchmark to child segments.
You’re a financial services provider with an Innovation division that needs the Technology industry benchmark for more relevant analysis. You also have a hierarchy between the Division and Manager attributes, and the benchmark should propagate downward from the Country level to the Managers.
  1. Go to
    Administration
    Data Settings
    Benchmark
    .
  2. Scroll down to the
    Segment-specific benchmark
    section.
  3. Set
    Segment
    to
    Innovation (Division)
    .
  4. Set
    Benchmark
    to
    Technology
    .
  5. Check the
    Propagate benchmark to child segments
    box.This ensures that the benchmark set at the Division level will automatically propagate down to all Managers beneath that Division, aligning the analysis across all levels.
