Set Up Minimum Wage Analysis Skill

You can use the Payroll agent to analyze new minimum wage rates in American states and Canadian provinces. To use the Minimum Wage Analysis skill, you must configure your tenant according to these steps so payroll administrators have the necessary permissions to access relevant payroll data.
We recommend that you establish best practices for reviewing, editing, and verifying the accuracy of AI-generated content before use.
  1. Enable the
    Set Up: Minimum Wage Agent
    domain.
    1. Access the
      View Domain
      report.
    2. From the
      Domain
      prompt, select
      Set Up: Minimum Wage Agent
      .
    3. Next to
      Domain Security Policy
      , click the magnifying glass icon.
    4. In the
      Report/Task Permissions
      , verify that the security groups have
      View
      and
      Modify
      access.
    5. (Optional) Click
      Edit Permissions
      .
      Edit security groups and select the
      View
      and
      Modify
      check boxes as needed.
    6. Click
      OK
      and
      Done
      .
    7. (Optional) Activate Pending Security Policy Changes.

  2. Enable the Minimum Wage Background Scheduler.
    1. Access the
      Edit Tenant Setup - Payroll
      task.
    2. In the
      Tax Elections/Taxes
      section, select the
      Minimum Wage Background Scheduler
      check box.
    3. Click
      OK
      and
      Done
      .
    When you enable the Minimum Wage Background Scheduler:
    • The Payroll agent only displays the estimated employer costs of changed minimum wage rates for payroll administrators to view in Workday Chat after 01:00 Pacific Standard Time (PST) the next day.
    • The calculations for the estimated employer costs only include impacted workers who have an hourly plan assignment that enforces minimum wage.

In Workday Chat:
  • You can enter a query in related to new minimum wage rates.
  • The Payroll agent generates analysis on how new minimum wage rates impact employer costs.
