Concept: Identify Missing Data and Configuration Skill

Overview

The Identify Missing Data and Configuration skill of the Payroll agent helps you:

Streamline payroll processing by finding what data and configurations require your attention.

Take action to proactively resolve potential issues.

This skill enables you to:

Monitor and identify outdated or missing data and configurations that are critical for payroll.

Take actions to resolve data and configuration issues such as sending notifications and making updates.

You can use this skill to find and:

Notify workers who are missing payment elections for pay types using the Payroll Rule on the

Maintain Payment Election Rules

task. This functionality is applicable for all Workday Payroll countries.

Update FLSA calendars that are set to expire within 90 days of the current date. This functionality is only applicable for Payroll in the U.S.

How to Access

Before accessing the Payroll agent in your tenant, you must have:

Payment elections for workers. See Steps: Set Up Payment Elections.

FLSA work period calendars. See Create FLSA Work Period Calendars (USA).

You also must have access to specific security domains to use different functionalities of the skill:

To use the Identify Missing Data and Configuration skill:

Once you’ve set up the Payroll agent and you're in the assigned security group, you can then click the speech bubble from the top navigation bar to launch Workday Chat.

Enter a query related to finding and:

Notifying workers missing payment elections.

Updating expiring FLSA calendars.

Notifications for Workers Missing Payment Elections

You can initiate the Find Workers Missing Payment Elections job using the Identify Missing Data and Configuration skill.

To configure how Workday notifies workers about missing payment elections, see Set Up Identify Missing Data and Configuration Notifications for Workers Missing Payment Elections.

When you find workers missing payment elections using the Payroll agent, Workday automatically notifies you with a notification on the bell icon once the process is complete.

The notification that you receive includes details such as:

The related pay group of the workers.

The workers who are missing payment elections.

Whether or not Workday notified the workers identified by the Payroll agent.

Notifications for Expiring FLSA Calendars

You can initiate the Schedule FLSA Work Period Calendar Update job using the Identify Missing Data and Configuration skill.

When you update an expiring FLSA calendar using the Payroll agent, Workday automatically notifies you with a notification on the bell icon once the process is complete.

The notification that you receive includes details such as the:

Name of the updated FLSA work period calendar.

Number of work periods that you requested to be added.
