Set Up Core Reporting Agent

You might need to take additional steps to enable this feature based on your organization's subscription service agreement. Your organization is either on the Main Service Agreement (MSA) or the Universal Main Service Agreement (UMSA). To determine your organization's subscription service agreement:
  1. Select your profile avatar on Workday Community.
  2. Select
    Profile
    .
  3. On your profile page, select your organization's name, which is beneath your name and next to your job title.
  4. View your
    Subscription Service Agreement
    value. If the value is
    MSA
    , you must opt in to
    UMSA
    before you can register and use the Core Reporting Agent.
    For the Data Analysis and Exploration skill: The feature is automatically available. For the Redirection and Navigation skill: The feature is automatically available, but you must manage your data contribution settings.
    • Access the
      Data Contribution for Workday AI
      task. In the
      Product Line
      step, ensure that your organization has not opted out of the
      Platform and Product Extensions
      product line.
    • In the
      ML Features
      step, locate the
      Redirection and Navigation
      feature under the
      Platform and Product Extensions
      product line. Clear the
      Disallow Data Contribution
      check box to consent to data contribution. If you select this check box, your organization does not consent to contribute data to this skill.
Opt-in to the Workday Flex Credits and Platform Entitlement Policy for usage in Production tenants.
The Core Reporting Agent helps answer questions and complete data analysis directly within enabled Report Writer reports. The agent evaluates the specific datasets you configure for analysis to help you get insights from your data.
  1. Access the
    Agent Management Hub
    report.
  2. Select the
    Unregistered Workday Agent
    tab.
  3. Click
    Register
    for the Core Reporting Agent.
    You can only register agents in the products your organization has access to.
  4. Select the
    Confirm
    check box and click
    OK
    to complete the registration. Workday moves the Core Reporting Agent to the
    Agent Registry
    tab.
  5. Select the
    Agent Registry
    tab and click
    Core Reporting Agent
    .
  6. Click
    Configure Agent
    .
  7. In the
    Status
    column, enable each relevant skill.
  8. Select the security groups from the
    Available To
    prompt.
  9. (Optional) If you enable the Data Analysis and Exploration skill, define which reports it can access:
    1. Click
      Maintain Core Reporting Agent Configuration
      in the
      Additional Configuration
      column.
    2. Add filter conditions to define the enabled reports:
      Option

      Select specific data sources to enable all associated reports at once.
      Supported Report Tag
      Select specific tags to enable a group of reports across different areas.
      Supported Report Definition
      Select specific reports.
      Supported Report Type
      Select
      Advanced
      . If
      Matrix
      is selected, remove it to prevent the agent icon from appearing on unsupported reports. The Data Analysis and Exploration skill only analyzes data within Advanced reports.
    3. Click
      Preview
      to review which reports are available for analysis based on your configuration and then click
      OK
      .
  10. Click
    Save
    .
  11. Click
    Activate
    .
You can access Workday Chat while viewing an enabled custom report to use the Core Reporting Agent. If the Workday Chat icon doesn’t display, sign out and sign back in to Workday.
Access the Workday Chat icon from the home page or an enabled report to use the Core Reporting Agent.
You can activate, deactivate, and reactivate the Core Reporting Agent in the
Agent Management Hub
.
