Set Up Contingent Sourcing Agent

Tenants
To use the Contingent Sourcing Agent, you must have a Workday tenant and a Workday VNDLY tenant.
Subscription Service Agreements
You might need to take additional steps to enable the Contingent Sourcing Agent based on your organization's subscription service agreement. Your organization is either on the Main Service Agreement (MSA) or the Universal Main Service Agreement (UMSA). UMSA is required for non-Production and Production tenants for Workday-Built agents. To determine your subscription service agreement:
  1. Select your profile avatar on the Workday Community.
  2. Select
    Profile
    .
  3. On your profile page, select your organization's name, which is beneath your name and next to your job title.
  4. View your
    Subscription Service Agreement
    value.
  5. If the value is
    MSA
    , you must opt in to the Universal Main Service Agreement (UMSA).
Flex Credits
The Contingent Sourcing Agent consumes flex credits in Production environments for General Availability. It does not consume flex credits in Preview/Test tenants for General Availability. For information about flex credits pricing and billing, see the official flex credits Community page.
Agent System of Record
The Contingent Sourcing Agent is an AI agent in Workday VNDLY that provides data that your program team can leverage to efficiently engage top talent for contingent jobs in the Extended Workforce Management module. The agent has 2 skills: Contingent Talent Rediscovery for Contingent Jobs and Contingent Applicant Grading.
You can set up the Contingent Sourcing Agent to enable clients, MSPs, and program team users to use its skills. During the setup process, you can determine which skills are available in your tenant and grant permissions to user roles to use the agent as needed.
  1. Configure the agent in the
    Agent Management Hub
    in your Workday tenant.
    1. Access the
      Agent Management Hub
      .
    2. Select the
      Unregistered Workday Agent
      tab.
    3. Click
      Register
      for the agent you want to register.
      You can only register agents in the products your organization has access to.
    4. Select the
      Confirm
      check box and click
      OK
      .
      Workday moves the agent to the
      Agent Registry
      tab.
    5. Select the
      Agent Registry
      tab and then click the agent name.
    6. Click
      Configure Agent
      .
    7. Click
      Activate
      .
  2. Configure your desired skills and settings for the agent on the
    AI Enablement
    page in Workday VNDLY.
    To view this page, users must have the
    ai.settings.read
    permission. To change any settings on it, users must have the
    ai.settings.write
    permission.
    The agent’s skills and settings typically display on this page within 30 minutes after you configure the agent in the
    Agent Management Hub
    . However, if you need assistance with this page, you can submit a product support case. For more information, see AI Enablement in Workday VNDLY.
    1. From the header, select
      More
      Company Settings
      .
    2. In the
      Integrations
      section, select
      AI Enablement
      .
    3. In the
      Contingent Sourcing Agent
      section, turn on the
      Candidate Grading
      and/or
      Recommendations
      toggles to enable the desired skills.
    4. Configure your preferences for the
      Tenant Data
      and
      Agent Traces
      settings.
  3. Grant permissions to enable users to use the agent in Workday VNDLY.
    1. From the header, select
      More
      Company Settings
      .
    2. In the
      Security
      section, select
      Security Settings
      .
    3. On the
      Roles
      tab, open the role you want to add permissions to.
      You can grant permissions to enable client, MSP, and program team user roles to use the agent and its skills.
      Vendors can’t use the agent or its skills in their Workday VNDLY user interface. However, you can use the
      Send Email to Vendor
      feature as part of the Contingent Talent Rediscovery for Contingent Jobs skill to share candidate recommendations with vendors.
    4. In the
      Permissions
      section, add these permissions as desired:

    For Contingent Applicant Grading, enables users to view grades and AI summaries provided by the agent for candidates on jobs. This includes grades and AI summaries that display on the job’s the
    Applicants
    tab and on job applicant pages.
    job.recommendation.read
    For Contingent Talent Rediscovery for Contingent Jobs, enables users to view the list of candidates provided by the agent on the job’s
    Recommendations
    tab. This permission also enables users to perform the available actions in the
    Actions
    drop-down menu, except for
    Remove Recommendation
    .
    job.recommendation.remove
    For Contingent Talent Rediscovery for Contingent Jobs, enables users to remove a candidate from the list of candidates provided by the agent on the job’s
    Recommendations
    tab.
    job.candidate.grading.override
    For Contingent Applicant Grading, enables users to enable or disable candidate grades for a specific job by using the
    Grading
    toggle that displays on the job form.
    job.candidate.recommendations.override
    For Contingent Talent Rediscovery for Contingent Jobs, enables users to enable or disable candidate recommendations for a specific job by using the
    Recommendations
    toggle that displays on the job form.
    candidate.read
    For Contingent Talent Rediscovery for Contingent Jobs, enables users to click a recommended candidate’s name on the
    Recommendations
    tab to view their candidate profile.
    candidate.ai.preferences.read
    For both skills, enables users to view AI settings on a candidate’s profile. Workday VNDLY automatically grants this permission to any user roles that have the
    candidate.read
    permission.
    candidate.ai.preferences.write
    For both skills, enables users to edit AI settings on a candidate’s profile. Workday VNDLY automatically grants this permission to any user roles that have the
    candidate.update
    permission.
    job.vendor.sourced.manage
    and/or
    job.vendor.pre_id.manage
    For Contingent Talent Rediscovery for Contingent Jobs, enables users to use the
    Distribute job to vendor: [vendor name]
    setting when using the
    Send to Vendor
    feature.
The agent is configured. Users with the
job.candidate.grading.override
and/or
job.candidate.recommendations.override
permission can enable or disable the skills on specific jobs. See Publish a Job.
The agent may take up to 48 hours to provide grades and/or recommendations after you initially enable its skills on the
AI Enablement
page in
Company Settings
. However, after that 48 hour period, the agent provides grades and/or recommendations within minutes for jobs with the skills enabled.
