Set Up Learning Outcomes

domain in the Student Records functional area.
You can use learning outcomes to track and measure student learning at your institution. Students can earn learning outcomes through successful completion of a course.
  1. Access the
    Create Learning Outcome
    task.
  2. Complete the task:
    Option Description
    Institution Academic Units
    Only available in multi-institution tenants. Select the academic units that will use the learning outcome. The prompt displays academic units that:
    • Are designated as institutions.
    • You have access to.
    By default, Workday assigns the learning outcome to the academic unit to which you have access.

    Sociology Research Data Collection

    Example:
    Ability to identify and develop data collection instruments and measures for planning and conducting sociological research.
  3. Click
    OK
    .
You can now associate learning outcomes with courses when you create or edit a course.
Competency: Self-Awareness. A thorough understanding of oneself across multiple dimensions.
Learning Outcomes: Students with competence in self-awareness can:
  • Define and articulate their personal values.
  • Evaluate and reflect on their actions and change as necessary.
  • Discern and describe their personal leadership style, strengths, and limitations.
  • Actively seek, evaluate, and incorporate appropriate feedback.
  • To edit a learning outcome, select
    Learning Outcome
    Edit
    from the related actions menu of the learning outcome.
  • Access the
    Assign Learning Outcomes to Competency
    task. Add the learning outcomes that define the selected competency.
  • View learning outcomes on the
    Find Learning Outcomes
    report.
