Reference: Student Statuses

Statuses on students' programs of study enable you to identify, process, and report on specific populations of students. Example: You want to identify all active students who are on a leave of absence.
Workday displays the status on the
Overview
 report on the Academics profile group of the student profile.
Students have a status for each of their programs of study. The status of the primary program of study takes precedence in all processing and reporting.
To view students' program of study status assignments, you can create custom reports using the
Program of Study Record Status Assignments
 report data source.
Program of Study Status
Description
Academic Record Status
Matriculated
Set when the matriculation process completes and Workday either:
  • Creates the academic record.
  • Appends the program to an existing academic record.
Active
In Progress
Begins when the program of study starts. Corresponds to the
Declare Date
 on the program of study.
Active
Discontinued
Set when the
Discontinue Academic Record Event
 business process completes.
Inactive
Dismissed
Set on the
Dismissal Start Date
 specified on the
Initiate Dismissal for Student
 task after the
Student Dismissal Event
 business process completes.
Inactive
Institutional Withdrawal
Set on the
Withdrawal Date
 specified on either of these tasks after the
Student Institutional Withdrawal Event
 business process completes:
  • Request Withdrawal
  • Request Withdrawal for Student
Inactive
Leave of Absence
Begins on the
Leave Start Date
 specified on either of these tasks after the
Student Leave of Absence Event
 business process completes:
  • Request Leave of Absence
  • Request Leave of Absence for Student
Changes to
In Progress
 on the
Return Date
 specified on either of these business processes:
  • Student Leave of Absence Event
  • Student Request Return from Leave of Absence Event

Begins on the
Suspension Start Date
 specified on the
Initiate Suspension for Student
 task after the
Student Suspension Event
 business process completes.

 specified on the task.

Pending Completion
Begins when the student applies for program completion.

Complete
Set when the program of study completes.
Locks the academic record to protect the data from automatic processes and inadvertent overwrites.
