Set Up Entry Requirements for Programs of Study

  • Create eligibility rules.
  • Security:
    Set Up: Academic Records
     domain in the Student Records functional area.
You can set up entry requirements that determine a student's eligibility to add or change into a program of study.
You can set up program eligibility requirements for use cases such as:
  • Prevent undergraduate students from adding or changing into graduate programs.
  • Ensure that students with a minor program can only add a major that's addable to the current minor.
  • Prevent international students from selecting the
    Undeclared Program
     category.
  1. Access the
    Configure Program of Study Entry Requirements Policy
     task.
  2. In the
    Choose What to Configure
     section, select the highest level of the academic structure where you want to apply the policy.
    The lower levels of the academic structure inherit the policy.
  3. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Effective Date
    Enables you to create policies that start on different dates.
    No Entry Requirements
    Enables you to give students access to any program of study, without restrictions.
    Eligibility Rules
    Enables you to configure eligibility or condition rules that determine program of study eligibility.
You and your students can add and change to programs that meet the entry requirements on these tasks:
  • Add Program of Study
  • Add Program of Study for Student
  • Change My Program of Study
  • Change Program of Study for Student
  • Edit Programs of Study for Student
You're setting up the entry requirements policy for all undergraduate programs at Alma Mater University. You want to allow only undergraduate students to add or change into these programs.
On the
Create Student Eligibility Rule
 task, create an eligibility rule to identify all students enrolled in undergraduate programs:
