Set Up Grade Point Average Overrides

Set Up Grade Point Average Overrides

Security:
Manage: GPA Overrides
domain in the Student Records functional area.
You can:
  • Manually include or exclude registrations from a student’s cumulative grade point average (GPA) using overrides.
  • Configure these overrides to apply to specified academic periods.
These overrides don’t affect the number of units earned by students.
Workday deletes overrides when you take certain actions. You might need to reapply a GPA override to a registration when you:
  • Delete an academic period record.
  • Delete a historical articulated registration.
  • Delete an internal or external articulated registration.
  • Reassign a registration from 1 academic record to another.
  • Remove a grade using the
    Assign Student Grades
    task or the
    Import Student Grade Updates
    web service.
  1. Access the
Maintain Cumulative GPA Overrides for Student
    task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option
    Description
    Cumulative GPA Override Type
Select whether you want to include or exclude a registration from the student's GPA.
    Effective Academic Period
Select the starting academic period in which to apply the override.
    Ending Academic Period
Select the academic period in which to end the override.
Leave the prompt blank to keep the override in effect.
    Note
Enter details associated with the override. Workday displays the note with the registration on the
    Academic History
report on the Academics profile group of the student profile.
This note overrides existing notes for repeated registrations.
When there are multiple notes, Workday displays the note that's effective today.
    Include in Reporting
Select the check box to return true on the
    Included in Reporting
report field on the Cumulative GPA Override business object.
    Inactive
Select the check box to remove the override from the student registration.
Workday considers the overrides when determining these cumulative totals for a student for the effective academic periods:
  • Cumulative GPA Units
  • Cumulative GPA
When evaluating satisfactory academic progress (SAP) for an academic period, Workday accounts for any cumulative GPA overrides. See Concept: Satisfactory Academic Progress.
