Posting Waivers
You can post waiver payments to a student's account:
- Manually, using theRecord Student Waiver Paymenttask, secured to theStudent Waiver Payment Eventbusiness process. You can allocate waivers by amount or percentage to different funding accounts.Workday routes the waiver for approval according to the business process configuration before it applies the precedence rules and creates accounting.
- Automatically, when you select theAssign Waiverscheck box while using theRun Student Financials Processes by Periodreport to assign student waiver item assignments.Workday calculates the waiver amount and student eligibility according to the waiver item assignment or rules. When the waiver item assignment doesn't have an eligibility calculation, Workday doesn't post the waiver payment.
You can use the
Find Student Waiver Payments
report to view student waivers that Workday posted to student accounts.Workday assigns waiver payments for eligible students when you configure a waiver item rule with a valid amount on a waiver item assignment with valid eligibility criteria.
Workday doesn't assign any waiver payments when you configure a:
- Waiver item rule with a valid amount on a waiver assignment without valid eligibility criteria.
- Waiver item rule without a valid amount on a waiver item assignment with valid eligibility criteria.
- Waiver item rule with an inactive waiver item attached.
- Waiver item assignment with an inactive academic unit or program of study.
Adjusting and Canceling Waivers
To adjust or cancel a waiver payment, select or from the related actions menu of the waiver payment. When you cancel a student waiver payment, Workday unapplies the waiver payment from the charge and reverses the accounting.
