Concept: Automatic Charge Reassessments for Student Group Membership Changes
You can configure reaction policies to reassess student charges automatically. Reassessment occurs when membership status changes in a student group, such as a student cohort or an athletic team. Associate cohorts with an academic level to be eligible for reaction policies.
To flag memberships for charge reassessments for an academic period, changes must:
- Apply to the student's reporting record for the academic period.
- Be effective as of the standard start date of the academic period.
Criteria-Based Cohorts
Workday processes changes to criteria-based student cohorts in parallel with the nightly job orchestration. The

job updates cohorts and must be complete before the Assign Student Charges
job can reassess the charges. When the cohort doesn't update in time, student charges remain out of date until either:
- The nightly job orchestration runs.
- You manually refresh their account.
