Steps: Set Up Name Pronunciation to Display on Student Profiles
To enable students to record and upload an audio pronunciation of their name on their profile, you might need to take additional steps to set up Media Cloud based on your organization's subscription service agreement. See Getting Started with Workday Media Cloud.
You can enable students to clarify the pronunciation of their name on their profile by:
- Displaying the phonetic pronunciation.
- Uploading an audio pronunciation.
- Edit Domain Security Policies.Configure theName Pronunciationbusiness process and edit permissions for these domain security policies in the Personal Data functional area:
- Person Data: Name Pronunciation
- Self-Service: Name Pronunciation
- From theAreaprompt, selectPersonal Information.EnableAudio PronunciationandPhonetic Pronunciation, and select the regions and countries for localization of those fields.
- (Optional) Configure theName Pronunciationbusiness process definition and policies to accommodate students. Example: Add an approval step.Configure theName Pronunciationbusiness process and security policy in the Personal Data functional area.
- (Optional) Maintain Custom Labels.From theTerm Contextprompt, selectGlobal.Enter newphonetic pronunciationandaudio pronunciationOverride Values.
Students can access the
Change My Name Pronunciation
task:
- To enter a phonetic pronunciation for their name. Example: EnterA-ver-ree Shi-vawnfor Avery Siobhan.To record an audio pronunciation of their name.
The phonetic pronunciation and a pronounce name button display under students' names on their profiles.
