Steps: Set Up Workday Mobile Applications

  • Review setup considerations for mobile applications. See Setup Considerations: Mobile Applications.
  • Ensure that users have:
    • iPad and iPhone devices running iOS 18.0 or higher.
    • Android devices running Android 13.0 or higher.
You can configure your tenant for Workday on Android, iPad, and iPhone.
  1. (Optional) Set up mobile PIN and biometric authentication.
  2. Edit Domain Security Policies.
    Configure the security policies for these domains in the System functional area:
    • Mobile Usage - Android
    • Mobile Usage - iPad
    • Mobile Usage - iPhone
    You can also configure these additional mobile-specific domains in the System functional area:
    • Worklet: Dashboard
      enables users to view dashboards they have access to.
    • Self-Service: Notebooks
      enables iPad users to group worker profiles and reports for quick reference. They can create, view, and share notebooks with other users.
  3. (Optional) Set up restrictions for remote access to Workday.
    Create authentication policies with IP restrictions to control remote access to Workday across all platforms and device types.
  4. (Optional) Test features in a Preview environment.
    To connect to your Preview tenant on a mobile device, make sure you're using the latest version of the mobile app. In the app settings, enter your
    Tenant
    name and
    Web Address
    .
Users can sign in to Workday on an Android, iPad, or iPhone after they enter the web address and tenant information for your company in the app settings.
