Concept: Educational Institution Attendances

You can use educational institution attendances in Workday to keep track of a student’s previous history at other educational institutions.
Workday creates an educational institution attendance record when:
  • A user creates a student prospect or applicant from a recruitment and enters educational institution information.
  • A prospective student submits an application to your institution.
  • A user adds an external transcript to a student or prospect record. When an existing attendance exists for the same institution and credential, Workday links that attendance to the transcript.
You can view and manage educational institution attendances on the
External Records
 report on the:
  • Education profile group of the prospect profile.
  • Academics profile group of the student profile.
Workday displays attendances in the
Education
 grid on this report, grouped by educational institution. When a student or prospect has multiple educational institutions, Workday displays the educational institutions in alphabetical order.
When a student has attendances from a canceled or inactive application, Workday displays these attendances only when there’s another attendance record for the same educational institution. Example: Created from an active application or transcript, or manually added.

Managing Attendances

Security:
Manage: Student Educational Institution Attendances
 domain on the Academic Foundation functional area.
To manually add an attendance without an application or transcript, click
Add Attendance
 on the
External Records
 report on the prospect or student profile. You can also import attendance records using the
Put Educational Institution Attendance
 web service.
To edit or remove an attendance, access the related actions menu of the attendance. You can only remove attendances that aren't associated with external transcripts.

Reporting

You can include attendances on custom reports, including attendances from canceled and inactive applications. Workday provides educational institution attendance report fields on these business objects:
  • Academic Record
  • Educational Institution Attendance
  • Student
  • Student Application
  • Student Recruitment
