Withdraw Student Applications
Configure:
- TheStudent Application Withdraw Eventbusiness process and security policy in the Admissions functional area.
- TheMaintain Student Withdrawal Reasonstask with student application withdrawal reasons.
You can withdraw applications for applicants who no longer want you to consider their applications for admission. The applications must be active and not have a publicly available admissions decision. To remove applications that you've created in error, consider canceling the applications instead. See Cancel Student Applications.
- Access theFind Student Applicationsreport.
- Select from the related actions menu of the application.
- As you complete the task, consider:
Option Description Continue Recruiting(Optional) Select to preserve the recruitment record even after withdrawing the application. Preserving the recruitment record keeps the prospect engaged with your institution.Anticipated StartIf continuing to recruit, select when the prospect intends start at your institution so that you can target your engagements with them.Withdrawal DateEnter a withdrawal date to record on the application.The withdrawal date doesn't affect the status of the application. Instead, Workday inactivates the application when:- You approve theStudent Application Withdraw Eventbusiness process, if you've configured an approval step, or
- The business process event completes.
Reason for WithdrawalSelect a withdrawal reason to record on the application.
Withdrawn applications remain in application pools and groupings but no longer display as awaiting action or have outstanding
tasks in
My Tasks
. Workday automatically cancels any remaining student action items.
You can't reactivate a withdrawn application. If an applicant changes their mind after you withdraw their application, they must start over with a new application.
If you're no longer recruiting the prospect, Workday inactivates their recruitment record. If they reestablish contact with you, Workday creates a new recruitment record for them instead of reactivating their previous recruitment record.
If you haven't already, consider excluding inactive recruitments from recruiting events, engagement plans, and campaigns.
