Cancel Student Applications

Cancel Student Applications

To mass cancel student applications:
  • Configure the
    Mass Cancel Student Applications Event
business process and security policy in the Admissions functional area.
  • Security:
    Reports: Student Prospect Records
domain in the Student Recruiting functional area.
To cancel an application as a related action: Security:
Manage: Advanced Application Actions
domain in the Admissions functional area.
You can cancel student applications that you've created in error. The applications must be active and not have a publicly available admissions decision. To remove applications for applicants who no longer want you to consider their applications for admission, consider withdrawing the applications instead. See Withdraw Student Applications.
This topic describes how to mass cancel student applications. You can also cancel a student application by accessing
Student Application
Cancel
from the related actions menu of the application.
  1. Access the
    Find Student Applications
    report.
  2. Select 1 or more applications to cancel.
  3. Click
    Mass Cancel Student Applications
    .
  4. (Optional) To preserve their recruitment record even after canceling their application, select the
    Continue Recruiting
    check box.
Preserving the recruitment record keeps the prospect engaged with your institution.
Workday removes the applications from:
  • Reviewer queues.
  • Application pools and groupings.
  • Prompts on various tasks and reports.
Workday also cancels all application requirements and in-progress business process events that are associated with the applications.
Canceled applications continue to display on the
Student History
report on the History profile group of student prospect profiles.
If you're no longer recruiting the prospect, Workday inactivates their recruitment record. If they reestablish contact with you, Workday creates a new recruitment record for them instead of reactivating their previous recruitment record.
If you haven't already, consider excluding inactive recruitments from recruiting events, engagement plans, and campaigns.
