Example: Enable Student Application Submissions

This example illustrates how to enable admissions for an academic unit and create an academic grouping to receive the student applications.
You want to enable admissions for the College of Arts & Sciences at Alma Mater University. You also want to create an application grouping that contains applications for the undergraduate program starting in the fall 2020 semester.
  • Security:
    Set Up: Academic Unit Configuration
     domain in the Academic Foundation functional area.
  • Security:
    Manage: Application Grouping
     domain in the Admissions functional area.
  1. Access the
    Edit Academic Unit Level Configuration
     task.
    1. From the
      Academic Unit
       prompt, select
      College of Arts & Sciences
      .
    2. Click
      OK
      .
    3. Add a row to the
      Undergraduate
       academic level.
    4. Select these values:
      Field
      Value
      Effective Date
      08/31/2021
      Configuration Options
      • Admit Students
      • Offer Programs of Study
      Use Dynamic Period / Use Fixed Period / Use Fixed or Dynamic Period
      Used Fixed or Dynamic Period
    5. Click
      OK
       and
      Done
      .
  2. Access the
    Create Application Grouping
     task.
    1. Select
      Create New Application Grouping
      .
    2. Click
      OK
      .
    3. Enter these values:

Undergraduate applicants applying to the fall 2022 semester at the College of Arts & Sciences start submit applications from 2021-08-31. Workday routes the applications to the CAS Fall 2022 Undergraduate Grouping application grouping.
  • Configure security access to student applications for admissions evaluators.
  • Configure the
    Admissions Evaluation Event
     business process for admissions evaluation.
