Create Notification Schedules for Packages
- Create student messages for both new and updated award packages. See Create Student Messages.
- Security:Set Up: Packaging Communicationsdomain in the Financial Aid functional area.
Workday automatically places flags on all student financial aid period records with a new or updated financial aid package. For each academic period, you can configure Workday to send messages to students when they receive a new or updated package.
For Workday to process those financial aid period records and send notifications, the student must:
- Meet all selection criteria that you specify on the task.
- Have a publicly available application with an admitted status, if they're an applicant.
- Be able to view awards. For matriculated students, theReturning Student Awards Display Startdate control determines when they can view awards. For applicants or entering students, theEntering Student Awards Display Startdate control determines when they can view awards.
- Access theCreate Packaging Communication Job Scheduletask.
- Enter theStart DateandEnd Dateto determine the date range for this schedule.
- (Optional) Enter the selection criteria to specify the students for whom this schedule applies. As you complete the task, consider:
Option Description Entering for Academic PeriodSelect to include students who are entering your institution in that academic period. Make sure you only select this option if it's the entering academic period for the entire financial aid award year.Federal Verification StatusWorkday sends financial aid notifications to students with this federal verification status. This status represents whether the U.S. Department of Education has verified their ISIR.Registered for CoursesSelect to include students who are registered for courses.
If the student:
- Meets the selection criteria, Workday compares their current financial aid package to that of when the last notification sent. They receive a notification detailing any new or updated award amounts, but not changes in award status. Workday then removes the flag on the financial aid period record.
- Doesn't meet the selection criteria, a flag remains on the financial aid period record.
Workday sends a
