Assign Student Cost Items

Specify which cost items apply to students based on their academic unit and level or program of study. You can use calculations that return a true or false value to narrow the set of students subject to each cost item.
Example: Identify the cost items to assign to undergraduate students of Alma Mater University. Use a calculation to restrict the On Campus Housing cost item to students who live on campus.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Student Cost Item Assignments
     task.
  2. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option Description
    Effective Date
    When Workday calculates a student's cost of attendance (COA), it applies the cost assignment instructions that are in effect on the student's academic period begin date.
    Academic Level, Academic Unit
    Cost items apply to students of the selected academic unit and subordinate units.
    Program of Study, Program Area
    Students in the program of study are also subject to cost items associated with their academic unit and level.
    If
    To restrict the cost to students who meet certain conditions, select or create a calculation that evaluates the student's eligibility.
    Example: The 19 Meal Plan cost applies only to students who live on campus. Create a calculation that determines whether a student lives on campus.
