Example: Create Custom Report for Mass Student Holds
This example illustrates 1 way to create a custom report to define the criteria for a mass student hold.
You're the Academic Advisor for Alma Mater University. You want to apply holds to all students enrolled for 30 credit hours, but who haven't declared a major yet. You create a custom report to identify all students who meet the criteria.
- Access theCreate Custom Reporttask.
- Enter these values:
Option Description Report NameEnterStudent Holds for Undeclared Majors.Report TypeSelectAdvanced.Data SourceEnterAcademic Records. - Clear theOptimized for Performancecheck box.If you don't clear this check box, you can use only indexed fields in field prompts.
- ClickOK.
- On theColumnstab, add 3 rows with these values:Business ObjectFieldOptionsAcademic RecordStudentAcademic RecordTotal Number of Completed UnitsAcademic RecordPrimary Program of Study
- Select .
- EnterUndeclared Program of StudyforDisplay Option Name.
- SelectCheck mark/xforVisualization Type.
- ClickOK.
- Select theFiltertab.
- In theFilter on Instancesgrid, add these 2 rows:And/OrFieldOperatorComparison TypeComparison ValueAndPrimary Program of Studyin the selection listPrompt the user for the valueDefault promptAndTotal Number of Completed Unitsgreater than or equal toPrompt the user for the valueDefault prompt

You can now select this custom report on the
Mass Operation Management
task when you select a Type
of Apply Student Hold

task to create a criteria-based mass student hold with this custom report.Complete the report when you create the mass operation request. Add values for the prompts in the
