Reference: Workday-Delivered Student Hold Types

Student hold types describe the processes that Workday prevents moving forward for specific hold reasons, such as not processing a refund because of a past due balance. This table lists:

How far the student hold applies to students at more than 1 institution or have more than 1 academic record.

Whether the student hold is visible to a student, such as on their profile under the Action Items and Holds profile group.

Which student holds types administrators can override so students can continue actions on processes, if needed.

Diploma	Workday typically requests a diploma through a web service. Workday doesn't currently process this hold type, but you can report on holds on diplomas, and use the hold in your process for requesting diplomas from a third-party vendor.	Applies to All Institution Academic Record	Yes	Yes

Refund	Prevents the issuing of new refunds and cancels any posted, but not settled, refunds. After you remove the hold, Workday calculates new refunds the next time the refund job runs.	Applies to All Institution	Yes	No
