Example: Create a Custom Report for Printed Items

Create a custom report for a student engagement printed item. Workday extracts the data from the report fields for the print service integration.
You're the Admissions Director of Alma Mater University. To view an overview of the student population, you want to create a custom report for all the prospects who have applied.
  1. Access the
    Create Custom Report
    task.
  2. As you complete this task, consider:
    Option Description
    Report Type
    Select
    Advanced
    .
    Enable As Web Service
    Select the check box.
    Optimized for Performance
    Clear the check box.
    Data Source
    Select
    Student Prospect Records for Printing
    .
    Click
    OK
    .
  3. Add any fields that you want to view from the
    Student Prospect Record
    business object.
    Add rows to the
    Columns
    grid.
    Example: Add these fields:
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Primary Home Address
    • Application Academic Unit
    • Primary Program of Study
  4. Click the
    Prompts
    tab.
    For
    Printed Engagement Item Printing Run Secured
    , select
    Yes
    for
    Do Not Prompt at Runtime
    .
  5. Click the
    Share
    tab to share the report with another authorized user or group.
    If appropriate, authorize other users to run the report otherwise they won't be able to use your report.
  6. Click
    OK
    .
Export the custom report into the Report Designer. See Steps: Create a Layout for an Engagement Printed Item.
