Example: Create Student Engagement Plans

This example illustrates how to create a student engagement plan using your student audience.
Marilyn, the Student Recruiting Manager for Alma Mater University (AMU), is creating an engagement plan for an email recruiting campaign to attract undergraduates to AMU for Fall 2019.
She wants to target:
  • Inquirers, leads, and pre-applicants
  • Tagged as veterans
She wants to send these emails to prospects:
  • A welcome message from July 1 to October 31.
  • An application deadline message 10 days after the welcome message.
  • A last reminder on October 31.
Create these emails in Workday for the undergraduate level of AMU with these descriptions:
  • AMU Undergraduate email campaign: Welcome
  • AMU Undergraduate email campaign: Application deadline
  • AMU Undergraduate email campaign: Deadline is next week!

When the plan is approved, Workday sends the welcome email within the specified date range to prospects who meet the recipient criteria.
The scheduled campus engagement delivery process sends the second email within the specified dates to prospects who received the welcome email 10 days earlier. Workday sends the email based on the run frequency schedule of the plan.
When the delivery process runs on October 30, it sends the final email to all prospects who meet the recipient criteria, whether or not they received the second email.
