Steps: Migrate Strategic Sourcing Contracts to CLM

Steps: Migrate Strategic Sourcing Contracts to CLM

You can migrate existing contract records and documents from Workday Strategic Sourcing (WSS) into Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM). This enables you to consolidate your contract repository and use CLM features, such as automated data extraction and unified workflows, for your legacy agreements.
During migration, Workday:
  • Automatically identifies and selects the primary contract document from the WSS record.
  • Generates a document record for WSS contracts that do not have attachments to ensure data consistency.
  • Attaches a summary file containing historic metadata, such as custom fields and chat history, to the new CLM contract.
  • Locks the original WSS contract record to maintain CLM as the single source of truth.
  1. Inform your suppliers that previously available contract documents will be removed from the Strategic Sourcing Supplier Portal.
  2. From the
    Global Settings
page in Strategic Sourcing, access the
    Contract Migration
    section.
  3. Click
    Initiate Migration
    .
  4. Track the progress through the
    Contract Migration
    status banner.
    1. Pending: The migration is queued to start.
    2. In Progress: Workday is currently transferring documents and data.
    3. Ready to Migrate: Workday has identified the documents and is awaiting final initiation.
  5. Review the migration results by clicking
    View All
to see records that migrated successfully or encountered errors.
Workday transfers your WSS contract documents and data into the prescribed folder structure in CLM. Once the process is complete, you can no longer edit the legacy records in Strategic Sourcing.
