Example: Create a Deduction for Multiple Time Offs (FRA)
This example illustrates how to group multiple types of time off in 1 deduction in payroll
reports and payslips.
Global Modern Services has 3 types of annual vacation time off that have the same payroll
calculations. To display the sum of all annual vacation as 1 line on the payroll
results and payslip, you need to create 1 deduction for all annual vacation.
Set up these types of time off for Global Modern Services:
- Annual Vacation
- Annual Vacation – Splitting days
- Annual Vacation – Seniority

- Access theCreate Aggregate Calculationtask.
- Name the aggregate calculation All Annual Vacation.

- Create the deduction:

- In theCriteriasection of theEffective Datedtab, create an eligibility rule to prevent the deduction from resolving when the employee has no paid time off.From theWorker Eligibilityprompt, select , and selectPayrollas theCategory. Add a row with these values:1st OperandOperator2nd OperandSelectAll Annual Vacationnot equal toSelect , and then select0.
- Define the deduction calculation in theCalculation Detailssection of theEffective Datedtab:
- SelectFRA Days * Rate rounded to the Nearest 0.01in theCalculationfield.
- Insert these rows in theRelated Calculationssection:Related CalculationOverride ValueFRA DaysAll Annual VacationRate100
- On theNon-Effective Datedtab, selectFRA Subtracts from Gross [FRA]from theGroupsprompt to subtract the deduction from the gross pay.
Arnaud earns 100 EUR a day. In November, Arnaud takes:
- Annual Vacation: 2 days.
- Annual Vacation – Splitting: 1 day.
- Annual Vacation - Seniority: 1 day.
