In this video, we show you how to modify and reuse an existing questionnaire in Workday.
You can add or remove questions. You can change or adjust scores for the expected responses. You can delete entire questionnaires. You can mark questions as required and rearrange the order of the questions. Please note that you cannot edit a questionnaire if it has received responses.
In this demo, we'll show you how to modify an existing questionnaire so you can use it for a different purpose. We are recruiting staff for a translations project and need only people who are fluent in Swedish. Instead of building a new questionnaire from scratch, we are repurposing an existing questionnaire that we already have in the system.
We access the Create Questionnaire task and select the Copy Existing Questionnaire option. We select an existing questionnaire called "Recruiting Languages Questionnaire."
To prevent ambiguity, we give our questionnaire a distinct name, ensuring it is specific to our use case.
Next, we'll replace the general question about a second language with a specific one asking if applicants speak Swedish.
Because we value having linguists on our team, we also modify the branching question to ask about the other languages applicants might speak.
Once updated, we can preview the questionnaire to see how it will look to the applicants.
We can now use this questionnaire in a job requisition for Swedish speakers for our translations project.
Modifying questionnaires in Workday is an easy but powerful way to maintain the relevance of the questions you ask during any business process.
Remember these best practices:
  • Give your questionnaires names that are descriptive, unique, and meaningful.
  • Don’t edit questionnaires that are in use or have responses. Make a copy instead.
