Set Up: Labor Optimization: Labor Mapping Rules
domain in the Labor Optimization functional area.
Labor Mapping Templates are a way to group and manage labor mapping rules for scheduling organizations. They provide a structured and standardized approach to defining how labor demand is calculated and applied across different parts of an organization, instead of setting up individual labor calculation rules for every single store, department, or team
  1. Access the

task. As you complete the task, consider:
    Option
    Description
    Template Name
    Enter a unique template name.
    Scheduling Organizations
Associate one or more scheduling organizations with the template. These are the specific organizational elements (such as stores and departments) for which the labor demand rules configured in this template apply.
You can’t link the selected organizations to another labor mapping template.
    Metric Forecast Multiplier
Configure labor demand calculations. You can increase the metric forecast by a specified percentage when Workday generates labor demand.
    Labor Mapping Rules
Select an existing labor mapping rule or create a new one.
    Minimum Threshold
: The minimum threshold for the labor demand quantity produced by the rule. Enter any number between 0 and 99, with zero representing no minimum value.
    Maximum Threshold
: The maximum threshold for the labor demand quantity produced by the rule. Enter any number between 0 and 99, with zero representing no maximum value.
Percent of Labor Budget Adjustment Allocated to Tag Set / Fixed Labor Budget Adjustment
: Configure how labor demand is limited by a defined labor budget.
    • Percent of Labor Budget Adjustment Allocated to Tag Set
: Specify a fixed number of hours that a labor mapping rule generates. These hours are considered essential and won’t be reduced by any budget constraints. This fixed amount is subtracted from the total budget before any percentage-based adjustments are calculated for subsequent rows.
    • Fixed Labor Budget Adjustment
: Allocate a specific percentage of the total scheduling organization budget to a particular labor mapping rule. This percentage is applied after any fixed labor budget adjustment is taken into account. Note: The sum of all
Percent of Labor Budget Adjustment Allocated to Tag Set
rows within a configuration should total less than or equal to 100%.
    • None of the above.
    Personal Time, Fatigue and Delay
Workday uses the values in the section to adjust the calculated labor demand by accounting for factors like breaks, fatigue, and other delays that affect worker productivity. This ensures that the final labor demand accurately reflects the actual time needed to complete tasks.
    Multiplier
: Choose a predefined multiplier that is applied to the labor rule output. This multiplier determines the percentage by which the labor demand is increased.
    Percent
: Specify how much the labor rule output value increases. Example:
    • 100%
Doubles the labor rule output (adds 1x the original demand).
    • 200%
triples the labor rule output (adds 2x the original demand).
    • -100%
reduces the labor demand to zero.
