Create Fixed Labor Activity

Set Up: Labor Optimization: Labor Mapping Rules
in the Labor Optimization functional area.
You can create fixed labor activities that are not dependent on any driver metric. Example: Cleaning the store before the store opens always takes 1 person between 7AM-8AM.
  1. Access the
    Create Fixed Labor Activity
    task.
  2. Enter a
    Name
    and a
    Start Date
    .
  3. As you complete the
    Duration
    section, consider:
    Option
    Description
    Static Times
    Create an activity that is based on static times that don’t change based on operating hours.
    Example: Select
    All Day Event
    , or enter a
    Start and End
    time.
    Operating Hours Based Times
    Define when an activity happens based on the organization’s operating hours. Example: Brewing coffee should always happen 30 minutes before open.
    All Day Event
    Only available when you select
    Static Times
    .
  4. As you complete the
    Recurrence
    section, consider:
    Option
    Description
    One Time Event
    Select if this event will only happen once.
    Recurrence Interval
    Select a Daily, Weekly, or Monthly interval for this event to repeat.
    Daily Recurrence
    Define whether the event should occur every week day or only after a particular number of days.
    Example: You enter 3 to indicate that oil in the deep fryers needs to be changed every 3 days.
    Weekly Recurrence
    Select how often the activity should occur, and on which days of the week.
    In the
    First Day of Week (default Sunday)
    field, enter which day of the week should be considered the first day of the week, this affects how Workday evaluates the order of the days you selected.
    Example: You select

    . Workday includes the Sunday that precedes Friday and Saturday for the activity. If you select a
    First Day

    If you leave this field blank, Workday uses Sunday as the first day of the week.
    Monthly Recurrence
    Select months in which the activity occurs. You can select particular days of the month on which the event should occur, or days of the week in the month when the event should occur.
  5. In the
    Recurrence Range
    section, enter an
    End Date
    . The
    Start Date
    field is automatically populated based on the
    Start Date
    you selected earlier.
