Set Up Organization Goals

Security:
  • Self-Service: Organization Goals
     domain in the Performance Enablement functional area.
  • Worker Data: Organization Goals
     domain in the Performance Enablement functional area.
Organization goals provide a framework for tracking high-level initiatives and enabling company-wide transparency. You can:
  • Configure which options are available when users create or edit organization goals.
  • Establish a hierarchy by linking goals to higher-level objectives.
  • Enable both organization goals and individual worker goals to cascade up the hierarchy.
  • Track goal completion percentage manually or enable Workday to calculate the completion percentage.
  1. Access the
    Maintain Goal Setup
     task.
  2. (Optional) Set up the requirements for associating individual goals with organizational goals in
    Configure Individual Goals
     grid. By default, Workday includes the
    Organization Alignment
     field on goals. You can require this field or hide it for specific security groups. See Set Up Individual Goal.
  3. As you complete the task under the
    Configure Organization Goals
     section, consider:
    Option Description
    Show Organization Goal Description Field
    Select to display descriptions for organization goals. You can hide the description for organization goals by unselecting the check box.
    Organization Alignment
    Select to associate organization goals with other organizational goals 1 level up in the organization hierarchy.
    Organization Goal Allows Organization Alignment Through Hierarchy
    Select to associate organizational goals with other organizational goals in the organization hierarchy. Only available when you select
    Organization Alignment
    .
    Default Organization Goal to Private
    Select to make organization goals private by default when you create them.
    Enable Percent Complete
    Select to enable only manual entry of the completion percentage.
    Allow Automatic Calculation of Percent Complete
    Enables Workday to calculate the completion percentage. When you enable automatic calculation, Workday:
    • Excludes individual goals that are pending approval.
    • Calculates individual goals without an assigned status as zero percent complete.
    Only available when you select
    Organization Alignment
     and
    Enable Percent Complete
    , and these fields aren't hidden in the
    Configure Individual Goals
     section:
    • Percent Complete
    • Status
    • Support
Workday displays the enabled organization goal options on the
Manage Organization Goals
 task.
