If you use Skills Cloud, you can choose to enable 1 or both of these sets of additional features in the
Career Hub
: - Opportunity Marketplace inCareer Hub.
- Talent Optimization inCareer Hub.
Opportunity Marketplace in Career Hub
This feature supports internal mobility by suggesting internal work opportunities that match workers’ skills or skill interests. Workday surfaces these opportunities on the
Suggestions for You
page in the Career Hub
. You can choose to enable 1 or more of these opportunity types:
- Jobs
- Flex Teams
- Projects
Opportunity Marketplace uses machine learning to generate skills-based matches between workers and opportunities. It also recommends learning content to help address skill gaps for each opportunity.
For details about the machine learning models that we use in Opportunity Marketplace, see Workday AI Fact Sheet: Talent Marketplace.
When you enable suggested jobs or flex teams, workers can also access the
Browse Opportunities
navigation section to view all available opportunities. When you enable this functionality but not Talent Optimization in
Career Hub
, we add the My Flex Teams
report to the Career Hub
by default. Talent Optimization in Career Hub
This feature supports skills-based career development for your employees by helping them establish professional networks, set long-term career goals, and plan their progress towards those goals.
When you enable this functionality, employees can access:

By default, we remove the
Development Items
and Connections and Mentorships
reports from the Career Hub
when you enable this feature. The Plan
and Suggestions for You
pages replace these reports. Development items completed before the user set up their
Career Hub
profile aren’t displayed in the Plan
page. Workers also can’t save project opportunities to the Plan
page. Setting Career Interests
Machine learning suggestions in Opportunity Marketplace and Talent Optimization in the
Career Hub
are based on worker skills, interests, and career goals. To improve the accuracy of these suggestions, Workday prompts workers to update their information when they access the Suggestions for You
, Plan
, Explore
, or Browse Opportunities
pages for the first time, including:
- Skills.
- Career focus.
- Job interests, for employees only.
- Skill interests, for employees only.
- Availability for flex teams, if you enable them in Opportunity Marketplace. Workers' availability does not affect flex team suggestions, but flex team hosts can use it to filter candidates.
To help workers add enough information to get relevant machine learning suggestions in the
Career Hub
, Workday suggests skills, job interests, and skill interests during this process. Workers must complete this process to access the
Suggestions for You
, Plan
, Explore
, and Browse Opportunities
pages in the Career Hub
. We surface the worker’s skills and skill interests on the
Suggestions for You
page, as well as on their worker profile. Employees can select Edit
to change their interests, and they can also add skills and interests while viewing suggestions in the Career Hub
. For details, see Concept: Interests.
