task, enabling managers to end 1 or more jobs and terminate workers with multiple jobs.- Edit Domain Security Policies.Configure security for theStaffing Actions: End Jobsdomain.On theEnd Additional Jobbusiness process security policy:
- Update security permissions for theEnd Jobinitiating action.
- Configure these new initiating actions:
- End Job(initiatesEnd Additional Jobas a subprocess ofTermination).
- End Additional Job from End Jobs.
On theTerminationbusiness process, configure security for theTermination from End Jobsinitiating action.To terminate workers using theEnd Jobstask, users must have permission for both of these initiating actions:- End Additional Jobs from End Jobs
- Termination from End Jobs
- Edit Business Processes.Configure theEnd Additional Jobbusiness process as a subprocess of theTerminationbusiness process. Ensure that theEnd Additional Jobsubprocess step is:
- After theReviewstep and before theCompletionstep.
- Required and has no entry conditions. This configuration ensures that all jobs can end.
You can add aTermination Reviewstep to theEnd Additional Jobbusiness process. This review step ensures that all required fields have a value, such as fields that aren't part of theEnd Jobstask.When you enableEnd Additional Jobas a subprocess ofTermination, Workday ends all jobs during all terminations and resignations. Resignations continue to route through Termination.Configure theSwitch Primary Jobbusiness process as a subprocess of theEnd Additional Jobbusiness process. Ensure that theSwitch Primary Jobsubprocess step is:- After theReviewstep and before theCompletionstep.
- Required and has no entry conditions. This configuration ensures that the worker has a primary job.
When you addSwitch Primary Jobas a subprocess ofEnd Additional Job, you can no longer correctEnd Additional Jobevents. Corrections might remove the worker's primary job. - Access theMaintain End Additional Job Categoriestask.Define categories and reasons for theEnd Additional Jobtask.Example: You create aVoluntarycategory with theOther EmploymentandUnknownreasons. You create anInvoluntarycategory with theWorkforce ReductionandJob Reclassificationreasons.Security:Set Up: Staffingdomain in the Staffing functional area.
- (Optional) Configure Optional Fields.AccessConfigure Optional Fieldstask to control the display of optional fields on the Terminate Employee section. From theBy Functional Areaprompt, you can selectEnd Jobsto access the fields. The fields display in theAdditional Information for Terminate Employeesection.
- (Optional) Enable autocomplete on theEnd Additional JobandSwitch Primary Jobbusiness process definitions.Enabling autocomplete on theSwitch Primary Jobbusiness process definition also enables autocomplete whenSwitch Primary Jobis a subprocess of these business process definitions:
- Add Additional Job
- Change Job
When you enable autocomplete on theEnd Additional Jobbusiness process,End Additional Jobevents automatically complete only:- As a subprocess ofTermination.
- When initiated by theEnd Jobstask.
- (Optional) Access theMaintain Staffing Field Defaultstask and configure these fields forSwitch Primary Job:
- Proposed Primary Job
- Reason
- (Optional) Enable theEnd Jobstask on the My Team Management dashboard so that managers can more easily access the task.
- (Optional) Set up job overlap for vacating positions.
Managers can use the
End Jobs
task to end 1 or more jobs for a worker, or terminate a worker with 1 or more jobs.To simplify access for managers, remove security for the existing
End Job
and Termination
tasks. This security configuration ensures that users can only access the End Jobs
task.
