Mass Propose Compensation Change

Mass Propose Compensation Change

You can process compensation changes as part of a mass
Change Job
business process. When you initiate a mass job change for a population of workers, you can edit their compensation details in the
Compensation Change
tab of the mass action interface. The columns in this tab are based on the fields you configure for your Compensation Change template. Your Compensation Change template must be enabled for the
Change Job
business process type.
When you initiate a mass
Change Job
, Workday creates a corresponding compensation event for each worker. This enables compensation rules and defaulting to run based on the proposed job changes. You can view these events in the
Compensation Group Event Details
report.
The fields and options visible in the
Compensation Change
tab and the
Mass Edit
modal depend on your permissions for domains associated with those fields and options. You can only view and modify compensation data for workers if they’re authorized to manage that specific compensation data.
When you select workers to mass edit and have the appropriate security access, you can access these sections:
  • Change Compensation Guidelines
  • Adjust Base Pay Plans
To access the
Change Compensation Guidelines
section, your Compensation Change template must include the
Guidelines
section. To access the
Adjust Base Pay Plans
section, your Compensation Change template must include both the
Hourly
and
Salary
sections.
You can increase or decrease existing
Salary
and
Hourly
plan amounts or percentages. This action only modifies plans already assigned to a worker; it doesn't assign new plans.
This feature isn’t available for all workers. It excludes:
  • Contingent workers.
  • Workers whose primary compensation basis is Manage Basis Total (MBT). If a change made during the mass
    Change Job
process causes a worker to become MBT-eligible, their compensation data won’t be updated.
