Set Up Job Level Hierarchies

domain in the Jobs & Positions functional area.You can use job levels to categorize job profiles based on factors like the level of education, experience, or training required for the job. Example: A particular job profile belongs to the
Principal Consultant
job level, while another job profile belongs to the Consultant
job level.Peer job levels are at the same level in the hierachy. Subordinate job levels are below the parent job level in the hierarchy. Example: You create a Director job level, and then create a Manager level as a subordinate. The Manager job level is below Director in the hierarchy.
You can create multiple hierarchies, but you can only have 1 active hierarchy at a time.
- Access theCreate Job Level Hierarchytask.
- In theNamefield, enter a name for your job hierarchy.
- Select from the related actions menu of the hierarchy name.
- In theNamefield, enter the highest job level type in the hierarchy.This job level type displays as level 1 in theOrdercolumn. Additional subordinate levels display as level 1, 2, 3, and so on.Once job levels are in use, you can rename them but not delete them.
- (Optional) Select from the related actions menu of the job level. Peer levels display as level 1, 2, 3, and so on.
- (Optional) To create child levels, select from the related actions menu of the management level. These subordinate levels will display as level 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and so on.
- Continue to use the related actions menu to insert job levels until the job level hierarchy is complete.
- Access theEdit Tenant Setup – HCMtask.Select your new hierarchy on theJob Level Hierarchyprompt.Security:Set Up: Tenant Setup - HCMdomain in the System functional area.
Assign job levels to job profiles. Access the:
- Create Job Profiletask to add the job level to new job profiles.
- Edit Job Profiletask to add the job level to existing job profiles.

section.You can hide level numbers by selecting the
Hide Management and Job Levels
check box on the Edit Tenant Setup – HCM
task.
