Steps: Inactivate Onboarding Plans

Steps: Inactivate Onboarding Plans

Configure the
Set Up: Onboarding
domain in the Onboarding functional area.
You can inactivate Onboarding Plans, ensuring they can no longer be mapped to an audience. You can still edit, copy, or preview inactivated plans. Inactivating plans improves management of onboarding content by reducing clutter by hiding outdated or irrelevant plans from active selection lists and prevents errors by ensuring that only current plans are mapped to audiences.
  1. Access the
    Onboarding Planner
    report.
  2. Locate the plan you wish to inactivate in the
    Plans
    section.
  3. On the
    Actions
    column, select
    Inactivate
    from the
    Edit
    prompt.
  4. (Optional) From the related actions menu of the plan, select
    Onboarding Plan
    Inactivate
    .
  5. Select the
    Confirm
    check box.
Workday displays an alert that you are about to inactivate a plan and that you will not be able to reactivate it.
  6. Click
    OK
    and
    Done
    .
You cannot inactivate a plan if it is assigned to an
    Audience
. You can remove the assigned audience using the
    Maintain Onboarding Plan Audiences
    task.
You cannot reactivate a plan once you inactivate it. To use the onboarding plan again, you can copy the inactive plan and create a new version of it.
Workday appends (Inactive) to the
Name
of inactivated plans and they will no longer be available for selection in active lists. Users with active
Onboarding Plan Assignments
linked to an inactivated plan can still complete their onboarding process as usual.
The
Examine for Onboarding Issues
task will not generate error exceptions for Onboarding Plans that you have retired.
