Copy Onboarding Dashboard Content to Onboarding Plan

Copy Onboarding Dashboard Content to Onboarding Plan

Security:
  • Set Up: Onboarding
domain in the Onboarding functional area.
You can use the
Copy Onboarding Dashboard Content to Onboarding Plan
task to transition from the Onboarding Dashboard to the new Onboarding Plan experience.
This allows you to migrate existing Announcements and Bulletins into an onboarding plan, create an initial plan, configure Sections, and define the Audience for your onboarding content.
The Onboarding Planner includes suggestion cards that help you migrate and create content. On the
Plans
section, when no plans exist in your tenant, Workday displays the
Copy Onboarding Dashboard Content
card, which you can use to move dashboard content into a plan.
On the
Content Library
section, you can use the
Copy Onboarding Bulletins
and
Copy Onboarding Announcements
cards to migrate content. Workday removes these suggestion cards seven days after you create content, and the cards will be removed entirely when the Onboarding Dashboard is retired at a future date.
  1. Access the Onboarding Planner.
Review the content migration suggestion cards in the
    Plans
    and
    Content Library
sections for guidance on copying content.
  2. (Optional) Access the
Copy Onboarding Dashboard Content to Onboarding Plan
    task.
    1. Enter the
      Plan Name
for the onboarding plan you want to create.
    2. In the
Days Active After Reaching Last Stage
field, enter the number of days you want the onboarding plan to remain active.
The onboarding plan can stay active for up to 365 days after the final configured stage.
  3. Select the
    Announcements
    and
    Bulletins
    you want to copy.
    Workday does not include the
    Rule
    and
    Expiration Date
    fields in the new
    Announcements
    and
    Bulletins
    .
  4. Enable
    or disable the
    Sections
    you want to display. Example:
    Required Learning for You.
    If you cannot
    Enable
    a
    Sections
, you may not have access to that functional area. Example: The
    Required Learning for You
section requires the Learning functional area.
  5. Specify an
    Audience
    target for your content.
You can use this audience to assign the onboarding plan to new hires. You can update the onboarding audience later, if needed.
  6. Click
    OK
    and
    Done
    .
After submitting this task, you’ll still be able to further customize your Onboarding Plan. The
Announcements
,
Bulletins
, and
Sections
you selected appear in the
Content Library
, while the original dashboard content remains unchanged. You can now edit content, configure plan
Sections
, and assign onboarding content to targeted audiences. Workday removes the suggestion cards seven days after you create content.
