Steps: Set Up Veteran Status Identification and Reporting
Configure Workday to track veteran statuses for employees and extract data for
compliance reports using the:

you can use for VETS-4212 reporting for the U.S. Department of Labor. Workday
doesn't assume responsibility for your compliance with regulatory reporting
requirements.- Configure theVeteran Status Identificationbusiness process security policy in the Personal Data functional area.
- Edit Business Processes.Configure theVeteran Status Identificationbusiness process in the Personal Data functional area. You can configure the business process as a stand-alone business process or as a subprocess of theOnboardingbusiness process.

- (Optional) If you want to report on veteran data for terminated workers, configure access to these domains and business process security policy in the Staffing functional area:

- Terminationbusiness process security policy.
- Create job categories matching the categories listed on the VETS-4212 form.
- (Optional) Access theMaintain Veteran Status Identification Formtask.
- Set the default description that displays for employees when they identify their veteran status. You can also configure your own descriptions for veteran status identification.All configured responses that identify a protected veteran must map to the Workday delivered valueIDENTIFY AS ONE OR MORE OF THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF PROTECTED VETERANS. The mapping ensures that theVETS-4212report includes those responses as protected veterans.
- If you want employees to specify the type of protected veteran, select theDisplay Type of Protected Veteran Optionscheck box.
