Send Open Enrollment Reminders to Employees
- Enter email addresses for all the employees you want to notify. Workday first looks for the one labeled asWork. If Workday doesn't find a work email address, it looks for the personal email addresses.

When you initiate open enrollment, Workday automatically sends an email to all employees. You can send open enrollment reminders at a later point with email, SMS, and mobile push notifications to all employees participating in open enrollment. You can also send reminders to employees who have a particular open enrollment status at any point during open enrollment.
- Access theOpen Enrollment Status Report.
- SelectView Detailsfor the open enrollment for which you want to send a notice.
- On theOpen Enrollment Details Viewpage, click theActionsbutton and selectSend Open Enrollment Reminders.
- Enter the criteria by which Workday determines which employees receive the email.
Option Description On HoldAvailable when the enrollment status isClosed,In Progress, orNot Started.Select this check box if you want to target employees that have this event placed on hold.Start Date / End DateAvailable whenSubmittedorFinalizedis selected in theEnrollment Statusfield.Enter a date range that can span from the open enrollment event date to the open enrollment close date.ForSubmitted, it is theElectronic Signature Datethat is compared to the date range. ForFinalized, it is the eventFinalized Date. - ClickCreate Message.Workday reroutes you to theSend Benefits Messagestask, and carries over all selected workers. You can then select an option for these fields that you can enable for theOpen Enrollment for Benefitsnotification type:
