Send Benefits Messages
Set up Benefits Messaging. See Steps: Set Up Benefits Messaging.
For workers to receive:
- An email, the recipient must have a work email address.
- A push notification, the recipient must be a Workday user.
- SMS messages, the recipient must have opted in to SMS texting on a mobile phone number.
You can send employees ad-hoc messages related to their benefits through email, SMS, and push notifications.
- Access theSend Benefits Messagestask.As you complete the task, consider:
Option Description WorkersSelect the workers to whom you wish to send a message. If you rerouted to this task from theSend Open Enrollment Remindersaction, this field populates with the workers you already selected.Contact MethodSelect notification options for the message. This selection determines the message fields that Workday displays in the task. This field populates based on theNotification Routing Ruleyou create for theBenefits Notificationscategory.If you rerouted to this task from theSend Open Enrollment Remindersaction, this field populates based on the delivery channels enabled from theOpen Enrollment for Benefitsnotification type.Email Branding(Optional) Select a notification template you created for theBenefits Notificationsnotification type.If you rerouted to this task from theSend Open Enrollment Remindersaction, select a notification template you created for theOpen Enrollment for Benefitsnotification type.Message Template(Optional) Select a message template you created for theBenefits Notificationsnotification type.If you rerouted to this task from theSend Open Enrollment Remindersaction, select a message template you created for theOpen Enrollment for Benefitsnotification type.(Email)From Display NameandReply To(Optional) Enter your desired display name and reply to email, if different from the information listed underFrom.MessageFor SMS messages, Workday recommends limiting content in this field to 160 characters. - (Optional) Select theReview Recipientsbutton.See which workers you've selected have enabled the communication channels you wish to send your benefits message through.
