Steps: Manage Benefit Credits and Surcharges
You can configure how to apply benefits credits and surcharges during enrollment events. You can also specify the order in which Workday applies credit offsets to benefit coverage types that you configure. Workday can display the distribution of credit offsets so that workers can understand how the offsets reduce the cost of their benefit plans.
- Assign users to security policies.
- Set up benefit credits.
- Activate benefit credits.
- Access theCreateorEdit Benefit Grouptask.
- On theBenefit Creditstab, select theEnable Benefit Creditscheck box.
Security:Set Up: Benefitsin the Benefits functional area. - Assign benefit credits to a health care, insurance, or additional benefit plan.
- Assign benefit credits to healthcare rates.See: Create Health Care Rates.
- Assign annual benefit credits to a worker.
- Select from the related actions menu of the worker.
- Enter the type of benefit annual credit, currency, and amount.
- Set up benefit surcharges.
Workers eligible for the benefit group or enrolled in the appropriate benefit plans receive the assigned credits.
If you select the
Enable Remaining Benefit Credits
and Display Benefit Credits in Enrollment
check boxes, Workday displays:
- The total credits applied to each plan and the dollar amount of a worker's total credit contributions in theElected Benefitsgrid on theBenefits StatementandCurrent Benefit Electionspages.
- TheDistribute Creditspage. On this page, workers can:
- Apply their remaining credits to retirement savings plans.
- View their plan's projected total monthly cost and credits required.
- View their remaining credits after contributions.
- TheSupplemental Contribution Creditsgrid on theView Summarypage. The grid displays a worker's benefit credit contributions for each retirement savings plan in dollar and percentage amounts.

- A list of used credits by benefit plan, on theCosts Offset By Creditsgrid.
- The net costs of elected benefits after Workday applies the credits in theTotal Benefits Costgrid.
