Concept: Editing Quote Start Date

Concept: Editing Quote Start Date

When you change the
Start Date
while editing a quote, Workday automatically adjusts the dates for service phases or duration. You can’t change the quote
End Date
.

Editing Quote Start Date

When you edit the quote start date:
  • We automatically adjust the earliest
    Service Start Date
    and adjust the
    Quote End Date
accordingly based on the number of working days in a service.
  • We use the number of business days between original start date and the new start date to shift the dates for role lines.
  • We use the number of calendar days between the original start date and the new start date to shift the dates for items, expenses, and third-party costs.
  • For recurring items, we shift the days based on the recurrence of weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual.

Example of Date Shift:

Scenario

    Quote Start Date
    is: March 1 (Friday)
  • Quote End Date
    is: March 15 (Friday)
  • The service has 2 phases:
    • Phase P1 is spread over 5 working days from: March 1 (Friday) to March 7 (Thursday).
    • Phase P2 is spread over 6 working days from: March 8 (Friday) to March 15 (Friday).
