Concept: Customer Contracts from Quotes
When you create quotes in Services CPQ, there are downstream impacts to customer contracts.
When you approve a primary quote, Workday creates an opportunity project. When the
Opportunity Status
of the quote changes to Closed/Won
, Workday converts the opportunity project to a project and creates the customer contract.Contracts created from Services CPQ quotes support specific contract line types. See Reference: Quote Line to Contract Line Mapping.
When a customer contract originates from a quote, you can view the
From Quote
field that displays the source quote in the Additional Information
section on these tasks:
- Amend Customer Contract
- Change Customer Contract
- Edit Customer Contract
- View Customer Contract
If the quote line is an item line, the contract line type and revenue category defaults from the sales item. Otherwise, the revenue category defaults from the
Maintain Services CPQ Settings

report field on custom reports to view quotes for customer contracts. This report field is on the Customer Contract business object and secured to the Public Reporting Items
domain.
