Steps: Set Up Customer Profiles

Create customers and define payment terms.
When you set up customer accounts, you can create and customize customer profiles in line with your business needs. Examples:
  • Add, remove, and reorder Workday-delivered reports for profile groups.
  • Configure profile groups to display on the profile.
  • Hide and reorder profile groups.
  • Set up and edit customer contacts.
Workday includes all available standard and custom reports on the customer profile.
To track workers who support each of your customers, you can also assign customer roles to individual worker positions.
  1. Access the Configure Profile task.
    • From the
      Profile
      prompt, select
      Customer Composite View Profile
      .
    • Configure profile groups to display on the customer profile.
    • To hide profile groups, clear the
      Display in Profile
      check box.

    domain in the System functional area.
  2. Access the
    Configure Profile Group
    task.
    • From the
      Profile Group
      prompt, select
      Customer Composite View Profile
      .
    • Add, remove, or reorder the reports for each profile group that you configure.

  3. From the related actions menu for a customer, select
    Customer
    Edit
    .
    Configure required profile groups. Examples: Configure:
    • Contracts to create, edit, and view a summary of projects, contracts and related reports.
    • Invoices and payments to view, edit, and pay invoices and record and apply payments.

  4. Configure customer addresses and contacts. See Steps: Set Up Customer Addresses and Contacts .
  5. (Optional) Set Up Assignable Roles.
    Enable Customer as an assignable role and assign the role to individual worker positions. Examples: Collector or Collections Manager.

  6. (Optional) Access the
    Mass Assign Customer Roles
    task.
    Select customers that you want to assign to worker roles and select worker roles to assign them to.
    Security:
    Set Up: Customer Maintenance
    domain in the Customers functional area.
  7. To create custom fields to store customer information:
    • Configure the
      Field Definitions
      section.
    • Select security domains to associate with the new custom fields in the Permissions section.
  8. (Optional) From the related actions menu for a customer, select
    Customer
    Update Logo
    .
    Add a logo to the customer profile to display on customer tasks and transactions.

After configuring your customer:
  • Set up security to enable users to view the customer profile and the reports in the profile groups.
  • Generate customer invoices.
