Why don't I see all Planning Instances in the Workday Menu?
The Adaptive Planning instance list gets dynamically populated based on the user’s access in the multi-instance hierarchy. If you don’t see an Adaptive Planning instance, it means that you are not part of the User Provisioning Workspace (UPW) provisioning group for that Instance.
With UPAS there are two ways to sign in to Adaptive Planning. Can I disable one method?
No, you can't disable one of the ways to sign in to Adaptive Planning.
Which method of login is recommended - Vanity URL based or Workday UI based?
We don’t recommend one method over the other. You can use either or both of these methods.

The Adaptive Planning instance name is coming from

field in Adaptive Planning. After configuring UPAS, you can't change the instance name.
Which Adaptive Planning instances get displayed on the Workday Home page menu?
Based on user provisioning workspace policy configuration, you can only see the Adaptive Planning instances that you have access to.
