- No. You must configure UPAS for all instances within a multi-instance hierarchy.
- Will the parent or security Adaptive Planning instance be required for UPAS?
- Yes, the parent instance is still required for an Adaptive Planning multi-instance hierarchy.
- Do I need to sync all users to the parent security instance to get access to a child instance?
- No, you only need to sync admin users to the parent instance. You can sync non-admin users to child instances.
- Can I assign a user to only a child Instance, without creating an account in the parent instance?
- Yes, you can assign a user to only a child instance without providing access to the parent instance.
- When users clicks an Adaptive Planning instance from the Workday menu, are they taken to their default assigned instance?
- No, the users land directly on the Adaptive Planning instance that they selected, not their default instance.
- If the default instance is not used for user sign-in, where is it used?
- When users make API calls without specifying an Adaptive Planning instance, then we fetch data from the the default instances assigned to these users.
- Do I still need to assign the default instance for every user?
- You only need to assign default instances to users who need to make public APIs calls.
