Reference: Settings for Levels

Level settings are in the panel next to the level hierarchy list in the Modeling area.

Level Details

Option
Description
Code
Identifies the level with a unique combination of numbers, letters, and symbols. Refer to levels by the code in formulas.
Disabled when managed by the workforce planning configuration manager.
Name
Contributes to the display name of the level throughout the model.
For words to avoid and other guidelines, see Reference: Naming Conventions Best Practices.
Update references to levels in dot-notation formulas when the level names differ from level codes. Example: IF (this.Level.Name = "Sales").
Disabled when managed by the workforce planning configuration manager.
Display Name
Indicates how the level displays throughout the model based on the
Display name format for levels
you select in the settings of the top-level.
Short Name
Overrides the level name for dashboard charts.
Display name format for levels
Available only for the top-level. Indicates how all levels display throughout the model.
Rolls up to
Sets the parent level. The values of the level rollup to the parent level.
The top-level always rolls up to
None
.
Linked To
Create Linked Levels for Multi-instances.
Available for multi-instance only. Lists instances that connect to and are beneath the instance in which you're working.
Use the links to map the accounts and dimensions, or refresh the data to reflect the most current data in the linked instance.
In workflow
Available for instances with Workflow. Determines whether the level is part of the Workflow approval process.
Read-only when the parent level setting is

The top-level setting is always

.
Currency
Sets the currency for the level and lets you add new currencies.
The top-level currency is always the corporate currency.
Publish Currency
Available for instances that you have set up for Workday Financials. Sets the currency to use for this level when you publish a financial plan to Workday Financials.
View Dependencies
Indicates where the model references the level.

Elimination Settings

Option
Description
Elimination level
Create Trading Partner and Elimination Levels
Available for instances with Consolidation. Eliminates transactions between child levels tagged as trading partners.
Elimination trading partner
. Your instance might use a custom label for this setting.
Available for instances with Consolidation and when any ancestor level up the hierarchy is an elimination level. Read-only when the parent is an elimination trading partner.
Enables intercompany transactions to take place between this level and other trading partners.

Version and Availability Settings

Description
Version selector
Identifies versions where the level is available. Save 1 version availability at a time.
Available in version
Change Level Availability
Indicates when the level is available in the version.
Read-only for:
  • Root actuals because all levels are available in root actuals.
  • The top-level because the top-level is always available in all versions.
Actuals Start
and
Actuals End
Change Level Availability
Available when you select actuals from the
Version selector
prompt.
Sets when the level is available in the actuals versions.
