Create Linked Levels for Multi-instances
After you complete your multi-instance setup, you can link the top level of a child instance to 1 of the levels in the parent instance. From the Level admin page in the parent instance, you can:
- Create linked levels to link to the top level of one of the child instances.
- Refresh the content of the linked levels to bring in the most recent data.
Example: Parent Instance includes:
- HQ (top level)
- Company A
- Company B
Child instance representing Company A includes:
- HQ (top level of Company A)
- Engineering org
- Sales org
You can make Company A in the parent instance a linked level to:
- Roll up all the data from from all the levels in the child instance.
- Store the data in the linked level for Company A in the parent instance.
See Concept: Levels.
To create a new linked level, do the following:
- Log in to the parent instance where you plan to create the linked level.
- Go toModeling > Model Managementand clickLevels.
- Select the level to which you want the linked level to roll up.
- ClickNew Linked Level.
- Specify the details for the new level in the Level Details area. See Reference: Settings for Levels.
- In theLinked tofield, specify from which instance you want the linked level to draw data.
- ClickSave.
You can also create linked levels using the Import Organization Structure feature. See Import and Export Levels.
