Manage Dimension Hierarchies

After creating a report, you can use these

Manage Hierarchy

options to see more or less data in the report:

Include no descendants
: Includes none of the descendants of the selected element.
Include immediate children
: Includes only the direct child elements of the select element.
Include all descendants
: Includes all descendant parent and child elements of the selected element.
Include leaf-level descendants
: Includes only the child elements at the leaf level of the selected element. Excludes all rollup elements.

Manage Hierarchy is different from the Expand capability in these ways:

It displays the effect everywhere that the dimension exists in your report
It's a permanent state for elements versus a way to expand or collapse elements in the spreadsheet report.

Manage Hierarchy provides a quick way to update reports without having to manually make the changes for all the affected areas.

Example: If you want to expand your Assets account across all the levels (HQ, Engineering, G&A) in your report, you can use the Manage Hierarchy option for the Assets account.

When you rearrange your report elements, the hierarchies move along with the parent elements.
