Reference: Report Parameter Settings

Report parameters enable matrix report viewers to focus the report without having to change the report definition. Use these settings to manage the display of parameters in the report viewer:
Parameter Setting
Description
Label
The display name of the parameter prompt when you view the report.
Type
Indicates the element that the parameter controls. Example: Level, version, or time. The field is read-only.
Clear (Only)
For level parameters only.
Removes (Only) levels from the choices in the parameter prompt.
Clear (Uncategorized)
For custom dimension parameters only.
Removes all uncategorized dimension values from the choices
only
in the parameter prompt. The report viewer displays all data based on the report results including the uncategorized dimension values.
Prompt before viewing
Selecting this check box prompts the report viewer to select a parameter choice before running the report, rather than having it as an option after running the report. You can flag any number of parameters as prompting parameters for a report.
Initial choice
For dimensions, attributes, levels, and accounts, a read-only indicator of the default choice for the initial run of the report. You can change the initial choice with the
Set as initial choice
button.
For time parameters, you can change the default with the
Initial Choice
prompt.
Allow multi-select
Enables eligible report parameters to display multiple choices for users to select from the parameter prompt.
Connections
Displays the report elements associated to the parameter. The field is read-only.
Available Choices
The hierarchy list of the parameter. Adds selected check boxes to the choices in the parameter prompt.
Set as initial choice
Enables you to set one of the available choices as the default parameter option for the initial run of the report.

Time Parameter Initial Choices

Time parameters have different options available than other parameters.
Initial Choice Option
Description
Specific time period
Report runs at the exact time period that you select. Example: FY-2020.
Current Month/Quarter/Year
Report runs at the month, quarter, or year at the time you run the report.
Previous Month/Quarter/Year
Report runs at the time period immediately preceding the time when you run the report.
Next Month/Quarter/Year
Report runs at the time period immediately after the time when you run the report.
First Fiscal Month
Report runs at the first month of the current fiscal year.
Last Fiscal Month
Report runs at the last month of the current fiscal year.
First Plan Data Month
Report runs at the earliest First Plan Data month of all versions used in the report.
Last Actuals Month
Report runs at the latest Last Actuals month of all versions used in the report.
