Reference: Drill Down

When you drill down, you drill into the data of your model. Each area of your model uses different drill-down methods and have different requirements.

Sheets, Sheets on Dashboards, and Excel Interface for Planning
  • Right-click a cell and select
    Explore Cell
    .
  • In modeled sheets, right-click and select
    Row Details
    .
  • Expand rows to see how contributing rows roll up.
  • In cube sheets, use dimension filters.
  • If you use Excel Interface for Planning, connect to Adaptive Planning to launch Explore Cell and Row Details.
  • Explore Cell isn't available for split totals on modeled sheets.
Web Reports
  • From matrix reports, click a linked data point to explore the cell.
  • Click a row header and select from the available dimensions or attributes.
To allow cell exploring, select the
Allow drill down
report property.
You can't explore matrix report cells where the intersection has:
  • Aggregate values of more than one account, version, level, time, dimension, or dimension attribute. These are some exceptions:
    • Account, level, and time rollups
    • Cells with splits
  • Values that display as % of Account.
  • Report calculations such as Custom, Subtotal, or Difference.
OfficeConnect
  • Right-click a cell and select
    Explore Cell
    .
  • Expand and collapse to display or hide row or column details in context.
Only available for OfficeConnect reports.
Dashboard Charts
  • Click a data point and select
    Explore Data
    .
  • Click a data point and then select
    Accounts
    ,
    Levels
    , or any of the custom dimensions or attributes listed.
  • Select context filters for the perspective.
No requirements.
